Our Horses

Mr. Banks was the first rescue for Lusco Farms. He was a surrender from a local riding camp. They wanted to make sure he went to a place were he would be pampered for the rest of his life. This picture was taken shortly after Mr. Banks came to Lusco Farms. He had bite marks from other horses and was thin from all the activity at the horse camp.

This is a picture of Mr. Banks the following Spring after a long winter of pulling and floating teeth. He was put on a steady diet of senior feed. He gained 200 pounds over the winter.

Nester is our lovable minature donkey. He was very skiddish around people. We had to pick him up and put him in the trailer because he didn't trust us. He was thin and his coat wasn't thick enough to keep him warm for the up coming winter

This is a picture of Nester the following year has he gained weight and began to fill in his coat to protect him from the cold winter. Nester still doesn't like strangers touching his ears or head but he loves when we give him hugs. He follows us around like a big puppy dog.

Christmas 2009. The Hat says it all Merry Christmas

Molly had a severe back leg injury when she came to Lusco Farms. She was diagnoised with semoditis which is a tendon injury. She will not be able to ridden or be a broad mare.

This is a picture of Molly a beautiful Grulo Mare. It is a shame to see a beautiful animal suffer an injury that prevents her from doing her job.

Pocket was rescued from an over breeding situation. Unfortunately this is an all too common situation where equines are allowed to over breed leadng to more unwanted equines. Pocket will be 2 years old this spring and will be gelded to prevent over breeding.
